How often do you see a news story on cars being recalled for a faulty part? Lately it seems that there are so many the fear is that people are just tuning out when a story is written or reported on. As you can imagine this can be a very dangerous issue and below are some of the recalls, as reported by Consumer Repairs, to date in 2015.
- Model year 2015 GM Cadillac ATS and GTS ¸ brakes may fracture due to a faulty rod
- Model year 2014-2015 Chrysler Ram 4500 and 5500 cab chassis trucks which have a 6.5L Hemi engine. The recall is for those manufactured between Aug. 20, 2013 and Jan 27, 2015. The vehicles are rated for a top speed of 106 but are fitted for tires rated for a max speed of 87 mph. If driving and acceding 87 mph the tires may suddenly fail this increases the risk of a crash.
- Chrysler has recalled an estimated 3,975 Fiat 500e hatch backs to upgrade cruise control software. Owners have been notified
- Model year 2015 Volkswagen Tiguans. 2,975 Tiguans manufactured between Jan 22, 2015 and March 20, 2015. These vehicles may have Certification labels with incorrect tire inflation or incorrect weight and loading information. Overloading or incorrect tire inflation can cause a crash.
- GM is recalling 14, 838 GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado’s manufactured between Jan. 6, 2014 and Dec. 24, 2015. The front brake calipers may be leaking brake fluid
